Democrats Hope Flimsy Charges, Huge Fines Will Sideline Trump
If these attacks succeed on Trump, they’ll do the same to anyone else who disagrees with them
You may have heard that a few days ago former President Donald Trump was found guilty of fraud and fined $355 million. But maybe you aren’t aware of the crime he committed that resulted in this fine, so let me explain it to you.
See, Trump went to a big bank to borrow money and he valued his assets at X dollar amount to secure the loan. But the loan officers, as they always do, examined the assets and said, We think they’re only worth Y dollars, so we’ll only loan you Y amount of money. Trump used the borrowed money for his project, then repaid the loan in full, on time, with interest. The bank said, Thank you very much, we made a nice profit and we’d like to do business with you again.
Umm, hold on a minute, the bank loaned money, Trump repaid it with interest, happy bank wants to do business with him again…that’s fraud?
The crime, according to the charges, is that Trump committed fraud when he claimed his assets were worth X instead of Y, as the bank determined. The bankers testified that this is completely normal, which is why they always do their own investigation before giving out a loan. That doesn’t even mean that the assets are worth what the bank says, it just means that’s the amount they’ll base the loan on. The bank officers said they did not feel in anyway defrauded and are happy to do business again with the Trump organization.
None of that mattered to the judge, who is a rabid Democrat supporter. He found Trump guilty and ordered the exorbitant fine. It is unclear who the fine will be paid to since no one actually suffered any damages.
Another Big Fine Against Trump
Meanwhile, a week earlier Trump had been ordered to pay $83 million to a woman who accused Trump of raping her in a department store dressing room more than 30 years ago – or perhaps less than 30 years ago, since she couldn’t remember when it actually happened. She also got details wrong about the department store, said she was wearing a dress that wasn’t available during that time period, and she failed to mention the rape to any of her friends. Later, she posted on social media that she was a big fan of Trump’s show, The Apprentice. Sounds a little odd for someone who now claims her encounter with Trump was traumatic.
In fact, her rape case was so full of holes that it was thrown out. So she then sued Trump for defamation after he made some derogatory comments about her looks. Even though she couldn’t prove that she was damaged by this in any way, the jury awarded her $5 million – but the judge, a rabid Democrat supporter, increased the award to a whopping $83 million.
There seems to be a pattern here.
Although Trump is wealthy, the amount he’s been fined plus legal fees adds up to about a fourth of his total worth – and keep in mind, total worth is not money in the bank. It includes the value of property and stocks. (For perspective, if you had $50,000 in the bank, a stock portfolio of $100,000 and a house valued at $350,000, your total worth would be $500,000, but you’d still only have $50,000 in cash on hand.)
Trump still faces other court cases, some of which could require prison time if he is found guilty. Those cases are just as flimsy as the ones where he’s already been found guilty, and are being conducted by prosecutors and judges who are Democrats.
Trump Targeted by Biden
All of these cases are either instigated by, or supported by, President Joe Biden. It is unprecedented in our country that a sitting president is pursuing a variety of legal assaults on the person he will be running against in the election.
This assault appears to have three prongs – keep him tied up in court so he can’t campaign, deplete his wealth until he can’t afford to run for office and throw him in jail so he’ll be disqualified from running. Biden and his cronies appear to be hoping that all these accusations will make people not want to vote for Trump.
The opposite is happening, of course. Trump’s support has become more solid and possibly grown as people see the unfair way he is being treated. And that isn’t just because it’s happening to Trump.
Are You Next?
It doesn’t take much insight to realize that if they’re trying to control Trump in that way, a man of means who can effectively combat the attacks, then they could easily do the same to you and me. What are you going to do when someone falsely accuses you of a crime and a judge who hates your politics decides to hand you a huge fine that depletes a fourth or more of your wealth?
What they hope you’ll do is change your politics to be on the “right” side with them.
All of these shenanigans may seem like they have nothing to do with you, just wealthy people problems. But they could easily have a big impact on all of us.
