The Cult of the Pro-Abortionists
The demonic response to last week’s Supreme Court ruling reveals a lot about the pro-abortionists mentality
The response of people on the left to Friday’s Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade has been, well, demonic seems to be the best description.
The internet has been filled with women howling in furious anguish. Others seethe in a preternatural wide-eyed stare. Some pound their fists into wall and floors. In Phoenix demonstrators tried to break into the state capitol building threatening violence against the legislators inside. At another demonstration a number of protestors presented their derrieres to the camera, with a cultic shaking and chanting.
Pro-abortionists “shouted their abortions” as a thing to be celebrated. Some carried bloody dolls to symbolize the value they placed on abortion. One male pro-abortionist even said, in a low demonic voice, “I love killing babies.”
There have been death threats. Posts on social media from people on the left have threatened to assassinate the Supreme Court justices, to burn down the Supreme Court and to hunt and hurt Christians. As far as I know, none of them have been banned or raised any red flags with law enforcement.
Perhaps most shocking was the number of pro-abortionists who attacked Clarence Thomas with all kinds of vitriol, claiming he’s a black white supremacist (what?) and frequently calling him the n-word, except they spelled out the word, sometimes in all caps. These are the same people who constantly claim that anyone who supported President Trump is a racist, but they feel totally justified in issuing the ultimate insult to a black man simply because he had the temerity to think for himself.
The elected Democrats were barely any better. One Democrat representative led a crowd of protestors in chanting “illegitimate” in referring the Supreme Court. Another one said people should ignore and defy the Supreme Court. The mayor of Chicago took to the stage at a celebration to insult Clarence Thomas all while another bloody night of crime ravaged her city.
Either they’re purposely misunderstanding what the ruling means or they’re just stupid, and it really is hard to determine which it is. Many have angrily said that the Supreme Court has no business telling them what they can or can’t do with their bodies – which, of course, is exactly what the Supreme Court said. The court said, correctly, that the Constitution leaves it up to the states, not the Federal government and especially not the Supreme Court, to act on behalf of their voters. Yet some of the areas with the most violent responses to the ruling are in states that almost assuredly will continue to legalize abortion.
Of course, allowing states to make the decision isn’t enough for some power-hungry politicians. Some in Congress are urging President Biden to set up Federal abortion clinics on Federal land. Sen. Elizabeth Warren threw out the idea that these could be located in our national parks. One wag on Twitter was quick to respond with the most appropriate national park to do this in: Death Valley.
You’ll notice that I never call the people on that side “pro-choice” because they’ve move far beyond just wanting choice. They actively are calling for abortion as something to be admired and celebrated. They are not pro-choice because they only want one solution – abortion.
The obsession these pro-abortionists have with killing unborn children and wanting to assassinate anyone who disagrees with them is very much like a cult. It’s disturbing and frightening.
Unlike cults, though, the pro-abortionists don’t focus on a charismatic leader telling them what to do. Or rather, they each focus on one personal cultic leader – themselves. The vast majority of the pro-abortionists are those who have bought into the delusion that the highest calling in life is to please themselves. If someone becomes a stumbling block in their pursuit of selfish pleasure – like a baby – they will go to great lengths to eliminate that problem.
This pursuit of self above all can truly be called demonic. After all, it’s exactly what Public Enemy No. 1 used in tempting Adam and Eve to sin in the Garden of Eden.
Selfish people can only view other people’s actions as being selfishly motivated. If someone is against killing babies in the womb, they reason, it must be for some selfish reason, like wanting to control others. That would be their motivation for doing it so they reason that it must be what drives someone to be pro-life (remember how gleefully many of these same people wanted to force others to take unverified shots these last two years?).
Somehow, more than 200 years ago, our founders understood that this would always be the motivation of the powerful. I’m thankful that they wrote down their wisdom in the Constitution and I’m thankful that we now have a Supreme Court that will make our leaders hold to it.
